Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is just days away for early access!  Cardmembers  can access the sale Friday, July 12th with public access starting on July 19th. The sale runs until August 4th and after that date, prices increase. Find all the details here! I love this sale because by this time of year I'm planning for fall and back to school clothes for the kids. This sale is different than other sales going on now because it's fall and winter items, not just a sale on summer styles. All categories include select items that are part of the sale. You can shop the sale in store and online . In store, the selection is more limited vs. online, but you get to try and see the items, so that is a bonus. Last year was my first year shopping in store and I made an appointment with a personal stylist to help me out and to navigate the sale. Each section of the store has a subsection just for the sale items. They are easy to spot and navigate through. You will only be able to purcha

Target offers Back to School Teacher Discount in July

Target announced they plan to revive a sale from 2018 that offers teachers a weeklong 15% discount on select items. The sale starts July 13th and will include school supplies and other essentials for classrooms, like disinfecting wipes and tissues (I can't imagine how many teachers go through!), but some new items are going to be included this year. Target announced that Pillowfort furniture and Bullseye's Playground items are going to be included, but I think the biggest benefit is that men and women's clothing is also going to be included, plus shoes! I think that is totally awesome that this expanded selection is included and Target has a lot of professional clothing to pick from. Electronics, backpacks and lunch boxes are excluded at this time, but I'm sure there will be back to school sales available to all later in the summer where you can snag these items for a discount. As mentioned this sale is for teachers and geared towards K-12, but any teachers

Prime Day Competition

Who is ready to go broke in mid July? Just me? I mentioned in an earlier blog post  about how a lot of retailers will have sales of their own to complete with Amazon Prime Day which is July 15-16 (48 hours!). Let's take a look at what retailers are going to compete with Amazon's Prime Day . Target Target is going to have it's own July " Deal Days " on both July 15th and July 16th. A draw to this online sale is that shoppers can pick up orders on the same day in the store if you can't wait for Amazon's 2-day shipping. Also, if you have a Target card, you will save another 5% if you use the card for payment. I love Target's in house brands, so I'm going to be watching this sale closely! Walmart Walmart has revealed that they are planning to offer thousands of deals on July 15th. Last year they joined in by offering free two-day shipping without memerbership fees and also promoted same-day pickup on a wide variety of items. They also he

June Amazon Haul

June was a busy month! School ended and my oldest was home for her first summer break now that she is older. Work kept me busy, and with juggling all the summer activities and social events, I leaned hard on Amazon this month to help me with all my shopping needs. Here are some of my purchases from June: Swimsuits I ordered LOTS of swim suits the past 2 weeks from a few retailers. I fell in love with this One Shoulder one piec e which is just $29.99! It was so flattering and this blue color looks great on me, but there are tons of color options! Amazon.com This two piece set gets a lot of rave reviews, and I can see why, at just $26.99 it's a great price point! It would look great if you want a two piece with some modesty and the quality was really nice. I think it would look fantastic on those of you that are a A-C cup, but I looked larger than I wanted on top the way it fit on me. There are a lot of options and prints to check out. Oh, did I mention the bottom

Amazon Prime Day July 2019

photo credit: Amazon Are you ready for a shopping day as big as Black Friday? Last year over 100 million items were purchased! Prime "day" (it's a 36 hour event) is predicted to start Monday, July 15th and continue through July 16th for 2019, although the official date is yet to be announced. So what is the big deal with this sale anyway? Amazon started holding a mid-summer sale back in 2015 and now it's turned into a summer black Friday event. After the first years, other retailers caught on and now offer their own deals and price matching, so there are tons of shopping deals across retailer if you aren't an Amazon shopper. For those who are not yet Amazon prime members, you can get Prime day deals by signing up for a free 30 day trial . I cannot live without my Amazon Prime membership. To get the full scoop on the benefits, click here and visit my blog post and check out the Subscribe and Save guide  (one of my favorite features!) Last year, a p

Havenly: An Interior Design App Review

It's been a while coming, the living room was due for a makeover. The furniture is from Pottery Barn and had a good 10 year run, but is now full of dings and scratches, since having kids means we can't have anything nice. About two years ago we bought a big cheap sectional because we were not ready to invest in a nice sofa with two little ones, and it's been used as a tumble track moreso than a sofa. We painted about 6 months ago but despite a pinterest board full of ideas, I wasn't making any real progress buying new furniture. I had an idea in my head, but really did not have time to search various websites and try to come up with a cohesive design. After some googling, I decided to try out Havenly , it's an app that pairs you with a designer to tackle your home design requests. There are a few different packages to pick from, depending on your needs. Click here to save $50 off a Full room design or $20 off a Mini room design!!! I chose the Full

Vacation prep and dreaming of warm weather

After only our first snow fall of the season, I'm over it. Who is with me! The blog has been slow as my family passed illnesses back and forth, then back and forth again. What is keeping me motiviated these days is the fact that we have two vacations to look forward to - and both are to warmer locations! First, in February we are heading to Disney. Should be about 70 degrees so we are looking forward to a break from the cold weather! The VRBO we are staying at also has an indoor pool attached to the house, along with a club house with an outdoor pool. We will be spending two days in the parks as well. If you have gone to Disney in February and have any tips, let me know in the comments! We have not yet flown with both the kids so it's a first all around. Then pretty soon after, we are going to Mexico with the kids to celebrate our 10 year anniversary (wow, time flies!). I am hoping that what we buy for Disney can be used again for Mexico, but that likely won't stop m
