Target offers Back to School Teacher Discount in July

Target announced they plan to revive a sale from 2018 that offers teachers a weeklong 15% discount on select items. The sale starts July 13th and will include school supplies and other essentials for classrooms, like disinfecting wipes and tissues (I can't imagine how many teachers go through!), but some new items are going to be included this year. Target announced that Pillowfort furniture and Bullseye's Playground items are going to be included, but I think the biggest benefit is that men and women's clothing is also going to be included, plus shoes! I think that is totally awesome that this expanded selection is included and Target has a lot of professional clothing to pick from. Electronics, backpacks and lunch boxes are excluded at this time, but I'm sure there will be back to school sales available to all later in the summer where you can snag these items for a discount. As mentioned this sale is for teachers and geared towards K-12, but any teach...

Prime Day Competition

Who is ready to go broke in mid July? Just me? I mentioned in an earlier blog post  about how a lot of retailers will have sales of their own to complete with Amazon Prime Day which is July 15-16 (48 hours!). Let's take a look at what retailers are going to compete with Amazon's Prime Day . Target Target is going to have it's own July " Deal Days " on both July 15th and July 16th. A draw to this online sale is that shoppers can pick up orders on the same day in the store if you can't wait for Amazon's 2-day shipping. Also, if you have a Target card, you will save another 5% if you use the card for payment. I love Target's in house brands, so I'm going to be watching this sale closely! Walmart Walmart has revealed that they are planning to offer thousands of deals on July 15th. Last year they joined in by offering free two-day shipping without memerbership fees and also promoted same-day pickup on a wide variety of items. They also he...

Shopping with your Phone

As much as I love shopping with my sister or a friend, there is one thing I never shop without - my phone! Sure, it can't tell me if I look fat in a certain outfit I'm trying on (well...pics don't lie), but I give it a pass because it can still provide some awesome benefits. There are savings apps, there are coupon apps, each store has an app...how do you know what is worth taking up precious memory on your phone? It can be overwhelming, but I've divided my breakdown into certain sections. Start with downloading the app for the stores you shop at most. Stores: Cartwheel: This is Target's app. I keep it open as I shop so I can scan my items as I shop to see if there is a discount. If so I add it to my list. The app has a barcode in it that you simply have the cashier scan prior to payment and it takes off whatever percent savings were available for your purchases. You can prep ahead of time but searching through the categories to find what items have discoun...

Target Buy 2 Get 1 Free Games Promo

My husband is a big board game fanatic. We have a lot of strategy and cooperative games, but that are also party games and easy to learn and play quickly. Target has a current promotion for buy 2 get 1 game free (until 11/5/16), so I'm going to share the favorites from our house! Ticket to Ride This game has won "best of" awards, and comes in the original game, for ages 8 and up. An easy strategy game to follow, you pick colors and build trains. There are bonus cards for connecting certain routes, and the longest train at the end earns bonus points as well. It's fun because you don't know if people completed their "bonus" or not so you can be in the lead at the end, but once all the points are added up you can easily lose. Comes in a junior version, and some other versions that change the location. Pie Face Showdown  Last year's hit game was Pie Face and this is a new version of that. The original version was fun for kids and adults (discla...
