Who is ready to go broke in mid July? Just me? I mentioned in an earlier blog post about how a lot of retailers will have sales of their own to complete with Amazon Prime Day which is July 15-16 (48 hours!). Let's take a look at what retailers are going to compete with Amazon's Prime Day.
Target
Target is going to have it's own July "Deal Days" on both July 15th and July 16th. A draw to this online sale is that shoppers can pick up orders on the same day in the store if you can't wait for Amazon's 2-day shipping. Also, if you have a Target card, you will save another 5% if you use the card for payment. I love Target's in house brands, so I'm going to be watching this sale closely!
Walmart
Walmart has revealed that they are planning to offer thousands of deals on July 15th. Last year they joined in by offering free two-day shipping without memerbership fees and also promoted same-day pickup on a wide variety of items. They also heavily discounted Google Home Devices to compete with Amazon's brand.
eBay
eBay is promising "crash sale" deals on July 15th (for if, and probably when Amazon's site crashes, because let's face it this happens every year). I love prime day but it is frustrating that Amazon's site crashes every year. This year, if the sale causes Amazon's site to crash, eBay will launch what they are claiming as "too good to be true" sales. eBay will be launching a series of sale starting July 1st so crash or no crash, there will be deals to be had! On July 15th though, eBay plans to offer deals on LG, Apple, Samsung, KitchenAid and Garmin - with the prices dropping more if Amazon crashes.
Nordstrom
Let's not leave out Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale! This year, card members can access the sale early on July 12th, but the sale is live to the general public on July 19th and will run until August 4th. If you have not burned through all your cash on Prime Day, the anniversary sale is a sneak peak into fall looks and styles. It may seem odd to buy boots and coats in the middle of summer, but the sale has some great deals. Of course, if you are not in the mood to shop for fall/winter yet, I've noticed a lot of items do end up at the sale price later in the fall. If you do love something though, many items go out of stock during the sale and are not available after the fact. I always grab boots and coats for the kids.
