What to Buy and When to Buy it in 2018

Happy New Year! Since we are all about savings at Delaware Deal Finder, let's take a look at when will be the best time to buy certain products as we move through 2018. These suggestions are based on my own experience monitoring sale cycles and are as accurate as my opinion of them, but I've gotten pretty good at this shopping sales gig so here we go...

January
1. Bedding and linens - yes we start off the year with "white sales" so time to stock up on towels and sheets!
2. Fitness equipment and clothing - an obvious category aimed at everyone tackling new years resolutions.

February
1. TVs - hello Superbowl! Can't host a party without having the biggest screen to watch the game on!
2. Winter products - people are already complaining that bathingsuits are out in January, so February is when stores will really want to get winter items out the door before stocking spring items in March.
3. Home goods - president's day means sales at every store, but look for deals on small appliances and home items.

March
This month is kind of like ehhh...you will see some sales as stores launch Spring apparel early but this isn't the time to buy yet.

April
1. Free things with tax time - lots of promos around mid-April. Free coffee, free meals, keep an eye out.
2. Cleaning Equipment - spring cleaning here we come! Good time to buy a vacuum.

May
1. Furniture - Tis' the month of the first holiday in a while. Memorial day sales offer big discounts on furniture.

June
1. Guy things - it's Father's Day this month so sales will target gifts for dad. Think golf, BBQ, shaving supplies.

July
1. Summer clothing - since you are at a half way point for summer, discounts will start.
2. Amazon Prime Day - sales for prime members. Total random assortment of items, but will for sure include Amazon electronics.

August
1. Back to school - yes already. Summer is over, time to stock up on school supplies.
2. Dorm supplies - because back to school includes college, you will find extra sales on storage options and things like sheets, that college students would be buying for their dorms.

September
1. Labor Day sales - I always think of matresses and furniture with this sale cycle.

October
1. Candy - for the super obvious reason
2. Certain clothing - like jeans and other fall items, as we are cycling out of the fall clothing that hit the stores in August.

November
1. Small electronics like laptops and tablets.
2. Home goods - my favorite sale of the year is Kohls Veteran's Day Sale!
3. Gaming systems
4. Black Friday deals - small appliances, clothing, toys.

December
1. TOYS!!! No explanation needed. Our Facebook group is the place to be for all these alerts!
2. Holiday decor, after the holiday season. Stock up on wrapping paper for next year!
3. Cars - sales on older models
4. Winter getaways - last minute deals on vacation packages to warm locations.

Amazon Prime Day July 2019

photo credit: Amazon Are you ready for a shopping day as big as Black Friday? Last year over 100 million items were purchased! Prime "day" (it's a 36 hour event) is predicted to start Monday, July 15th and continue through July 16th for 2019, although the official date is yet to be announced. So what is the big deal with this sale anyway? Amazon started holding a mid-summer sale back in 2015 and now it's turned into a summer black Friday event. After the first years, other retailers caught on and now offer their own deals and price matching, so there are tons of shopping deals across retailer if you aren't an Amazon shopper. For those who are not yet Amazon prime members, you can get Prime day deals by signing up for a free 30 day trial . I cannot live without my Amazon Prime membership. To get the full scoop on the benefits, click here and visit my blog post and check out the Subscribe and Save guide  (one of my favorite features!) Last year, a p...
