Who is ready for the last 2 weeks of shopping for this holiday season?

If you still have presents to buy, here are some tips to help you shop smart!


Today is Green Monday. Whatever that means. I had to look it up myself. It's 10 days or 2 Monday's before Christmas. Stores try to lure you in with sales since we are getting into crunch time. A lot of items that were heavily discounted on Cyber Monday are showing up in the sale cycle again. So if you missed a deal the first time, check it out today and see if you can get a great deal!

There is another day coming up this week. Friday is known as "free shipping day." December 16th is what most companies consider the last day to ship to guarantee Christmas arrival so be on the look out for tons of deals for free shipping or expedited shipping. Keep in mind there still may be a minimum amount you need to spend to qualify, but it's likely lower than the usual amount required.

For Amazon non prime members need to order by Dec 16th and prime by Dec 22nd. Don't rack up charges on shipping because you procrastinated!

If you want to venture out, shop at non traditional times. A lot of stores will extend their hours closer to Christmas. Going right after work or over lunch will be chaos, take advantage of those early morning and late night hours. Going after the kids fall asleep makes it easier for Santa to hide the stash as well.

Maybe you've waited because you are on a tight budget and were waiting for that holiday bonus. Don’t forget about sites like graze.com where you can grab discounted gift cards. Stack those with store savings and you can really save money. You can even GIFT that gift card you bought on sale - how's that for a deal!

If you get to the point where it's too late to buy someone a gift - give them an experience. Tickets to the zoo, movie tickets, free babysitting, think outside the box. If they are into yoga or a kid takes music lessons, pay for a class. Or you can always DIY a gift by browsing on Pinterest or baking a yummy treat!
